These plates are strategically installed in the drive-side sections of the finishing mill, including the gearbox-to-gear seat interfaces, the gear seat housing contact areas with the frame, the output shaft windows, and roller bearing seat contact surfaces. They also protect points where shaft supports or balancing devices interface with the drive system. By reinforcing these critical zones, the liners reduce wear, prevent metal-to-metal damage, and help maintain precise alignment of the drive components, even under heavy loads and high rolling speeds.
