Alloy composition: Typically contains high levels of chromium (12%-30%), manganese (11%-14%), and molybdenum (0.5%-2.0%), combined with carbon to form hard wear-resistant phases (e.g., M7C3 carbides).


Outstanding hardness: Surface hardness ranges from HRC58 to HRC68, creating a rigid barrier against abrasive materials like ore, gravel, and slag.


Ultra-low wear rate: Wear loss is as low as 0.2-0.5kg/t in typical applications, 5-8 times more wear-resistant than ordinary carbon steel and 2-3 times better than standard manganese steel plates.

Advanced heat treatment: Quenching and tempering (Q&T) processes optimize the material structure, ensuring impact toughness ≥120J/cm² (some grades reach ≥180J/cm²).


Impact resistance: Capable of withstanding high-frequency impacts from large, hard materials (up to 300mm+ ore chunks) without cracking, chipping, or deformation.


Structural reinforcement: Thickened wear layers (10-50mm) and rounded edge transitions reduce stress concentration, enhancing durability in continuous impact environments like crushers and mills.

Superior Corrosion Resistance for Harsh Environments

 

Unlike ordinary wear plates, high-alloy variants are engineered to resist corrosion, making them ideal for humid, chemical, or mineral-rich environments.


Corrosion-inhibiting alloys: Chromium and nickel additions form a dense, stable oxide film on the surface, preventing oxidation and erosion from mineral slurries, mild acids, alkalis, and saltwater.


Rust prevention: Maintains structural integrity in outdoor, underground, or wet mining operations, avoiding rust contamination of processed materials.

Liner Plate Manufacturing Process

 

Raw Material Selection:

High-quality high chromium cast iron, with precise chromium and carbon content, is sourced from certified suppliers, compliant with ISO 9001 and ASTM standards.
Chemical composition is verified to ensure optimal carbide formation for wear resistance.

 

Melting and Casting:

Melting is conducted in electric arc furnaces or induction furnaces to achieve uniform material properties.Sand casting or investment casting techniques are used, adhering to ISO 2642 for dimensional accuracy.

 

Heat Treatment:

Wear plates undergo controlled heat treatment, including quenching and tempering, to achieve hardness up to 60 HRC while maintaining toughness.
Processes comply with ASTM A532 standards for high chromium cast iron castings.

 

Machining and Finishing:

CNC machining centers and automated grinding equipment ensure precise dimensions and surface quality.Tolerances are maintained per ISO 2768 for machining accuracy.

Safe use of Liner Plate

Fracture is the main failure mode of liner plate. The main causes of fracture are casting defects, such as casting porosity, shrinkage cavity, porosity, inclusion, etc

 

Liner plates should be small and thick, single bolt hole, or no bolt hole. It is not allowed to use a large and thin or double bolt hole lining plate.

 

During the installation of high chromium lining plate, the lining plate with bolt holes shall be firmly fixed with bolts. The installation surface and cylinder surface should be in contact with each other. It is better to choose a rubber cushion as a cushion. It is strictly forbidden to install and use high chromium liner without any bedding. During the initial (Trial) operation after installation, the mill must be filled with a certain amount of materials before the operation. It is strictly prohibited to run the mill without load.
