Conveyor Roller For Walking Beam Transfer Bed

Conveyor Roller For Walking Beam Transfer Bed

Details
Our laser‑cladded conveyor rollers are critical wear‑resistant components specially engineered for walking‑beam transfer beds in metallurgical hot‑rolling production lines. Adopting advanced laser cladding surface hardening technology, high‑performance alloy powders are fused onto roller surfaces to form a dense protective metallurgical coating. These rollers handle heavy‑duty hot‑steel conveying under severe abrasive wear, particle erosion and fluctuating high‑temperature conditions.

Product Overview

Suitable for acceleration rollers, U‑groove rollers and various transfer rollers on steel rolling mills, they deliver outstanding wear‑resistance, anti‑erosion and high‑temperature stability. On‑site mill operation records confirm our laser‑cladded rollers achieve up to 800,000 tons of steel passing volume within 10 months, showing only minor surface wear with no spalling or cracking after long‑term continuous production.

Core Technology - Laser Cladding

Laser cladding applies high‑energy laser beam as heat source, feeding alloy powder synchronously into the molten pool. Powder material and roller substrate melt rapidly and solidify to build a firmly bonded protective overlay. Dilution rate is precisely controlled within 3%‑8% (below 5% for premium process), which retains the full functional performance of cladding alloy material.

WC (Tungsten Carbide) composite cladding option is available for extreme abrasive service scenarios.

Key Product Features

✅ Robust Metallurgical Bonding

The cladding layer forms true metallurgical bonding with roller base metal, reaching substrate‑level bonding strength. Resists peeling, cracking and impact load, delivering far higher reliability than thermal‑sprayed coatings. Longer service life and superior load‑bearing & anti‑shock performance.

✅ Minimal Heat‑Affected Zone & Low Workpiece Distortion

Concentrated laser energy creates small molten pool with rapid cooling speed. Roller overall deformation is extremely limited; base metal microstructure remains nearly unaffected. Less post‑cladding machining required, well‑suited for large‑size precision transfer rollers.

✅ High Hardness & Superior Abrasion Resistance

Surface hardness ranges HRC45‑55. For WC‑reinforced cladding, service life reaches 2‑5 times of conventional hard‑facing weld overlay, 5‑10 times of ordinary heat‑treated rollers, and can exceed 10‑fold lifespan under severe particle abrasive wear conditions. Excellent anti‑scouring performance against sinter, coke, ore and hot steel particles.

✅ Good High‑Temperature & Corrosion Resistance

Nickel‑base alloy cladding systems (Ni625, Inconel625, Hastelloy etc.) support continuous working temperature from 500℃ to 800℃, resisting oxidation and medium corrosion under hot rolling environment.

✅ Localized Surface Strengthening & Remanufacturing Capacity

Only wear zones such as U‑groove, roller working surface are cladded. Saves expensive alloy consumables, cuts processing cycle and operational cost. Worn, corroded or dimension‑deviated used rollers can be fully repaired to original drawing dimension and performance. Compared with purchasing brand‑new rollers:

Cost reduced by 30%‑70%

Lead‑time shortened by over 50%

Multiple repeated repairs are achievable

✅ High Automation & Eco‑Friendly Manufacturing

Manufactured with robot‑driven multi‑axis CNC laser cladding equipment with automatic powder feeding and path planning. Stable, repeatable coating quality for batch orders. Less fume, spatter and lower energy consumption vs traditional manual hard‑facing welding, complying with green manufacturing standards.

Application Scenarios

Metallurgy hot‑rolling line: walking beam transfer bed, acceleration roller table, U‑groove rollers, guide rollers

Steel mill roller remanufacturing & new‑roller surface strengthening

Heavy‑load conveying under abrasive wear, hot particle scouring and medium‑high temperature conditions

Economic Comparison: Laser‑Cladded Roller VS New‑Roller Replacement

Comparison Item Laser‑Cladded Conveyor Roller Purchase Brand‑New Roller
